Farm Mechanic

Perform maintenance and record keeping on farm equipment including sod harvesters, forklifts, mowers, trucks, and trailers. This would include oil changes, grease, hydraulics, tires, brakes, welding, and any other necessary repairs. The worker occasionally will drive day cabs with flatbed trailer and heavy trucks containing sod grown on farm to various farm-owned properties and to market. The Farm Mechanic position will be 80% work as a mechanic and 20% of work will be driving. CDL drivers license or foreign equivalent required. Drug testing may be required at employer expense post-hire to both H-2A and domestic workers. Ability to lift to 50 lbs. Three months experience working with, maintaining, and repairing agricultural equipment, including sod harvesters, forklifts, mowers, trucks, and trailers. Hours per week range from 40-45 hours, Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm and Saturday 7:00am-12:00am. Workers are provided with a 30 minute lunch. Hours and times vary due to weather & crop conditions.
