Position Summary
We are seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Cudahy, WI. This role is responsible for providing technical leadership, engineering design, and project management related to machines, tools, equipment, buildings, and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage assigned projects involving machinery, equipment, buildings, and facilities.
- Provide engineering guidance and troubleshoot equipment, system, or facility issues.
- Redesign and oversee the repair or rebuild of plant equipment to address performance issues or meet evolving requirements.
- Plan and coordinate equipment layouts to maximize space usage, operational efficiency, and safety.
- Prepare cost estimates for equipment, materials, installation, and labor.
- Supervise construction and installation projects, coordinating with internal maintenance teams and external contractors.
- Create equipment layouts and specify material handling solutions using engineering principles such as stress analysis, mechanics, and machine design.
- Interpret and work from ideas, sketches, layouts, specifications, and instructions.
- Ensure accuracy and functional correctness of engineering designs and calculations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, designers, contractors, and operators.
- Provide technical direction to a small team (12 members) including draftsmen and junior engineers.
