Electrical Engineer – Manufacturing Support (Sustaining)

If you love solving real-world electrical problems on the floor, not just behind a screen — this is your role! This isn't another product development job where you only see prototypes in CAD. This is a hands-on, floor-facing Electrical Engineering position supporting highly specialized manufacturing lines producing life-enhancing mobility products. You'll be the go-to electrical expert embedded directly in the heart of production — troubleshooting issues, improving test systems, collaborating with line workers, and helping to keep critical operations running smoothly. This company is privately owned, stable, and deeply values work-life balance, employee respect, and engineering craft. No mandatory overtime. No corporate red tape. Just meaningful work with a team that wants you to succeed.

What You'll Do:

  • Own and support all electrical systems across multiple production lines (stairlifts, auto lifts, platform lifts, and more)
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day electrical issues (wiring errors, DC systems, fixture failures, sensor faults)
  • Manage and improve PLC-based automated test stations
  • Collaborate closely with assembly line personnel, supervisors, QA, and engineers
  • Maintain and upgrade test fixtures, tools, and equipment (including building new solutions as needed)
  • Support new product launches with test system integration and software adjustments
  • Contribute to a culture of problem-solving, humility, and practical impact

You'll Excel Here If You:

  • Enjoy working with real-world systems — wiring, sensors, motors, fixtures — not just simulations
  • Like being on the floor, talking to line workers, diagnosing problems, and jumping in to help
  • Have strong troubleshooting instincts, even when documentation is vague or the issue is human
  • Appreciate a stable environment with minimal politics, open communication, and long-term team members
  • Want to make an immediate difference in throughput, quality, and team performance

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (strongly preferred; experience may substitute in some cases)
  • 3–10+ years of experience supporting manufacturing operations (sustaining, test, or production support)
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • PLC programming and troubleshooting
    • 12V / 24V DC systems
    • HMI / touch screen configuration
    • Test fixture development or support
    • Comfort with Arduino, LabVIEW, or other small-scale test tools (a plus)
    • Ability to read schematics and diagnose hands-on wiring issues quickly

Soft Skills That Matter:

  • Patient and collaborative communicator — able to talk shop with production staff
  • Problem-solver who can improvise and iterate without being micromanaged
  • Comfortable in a sustaining/support role — not chasing titles or strictly product development work
  • Interested in steady, long-term contribution, not rapid job-hopping or ladder climbing

What's In It for You:

  • Stable and profitable company with over 40 years of growth and innovation
  • No required overtime – your evenings and weekends belong to you
  • Flexible PTO managed with common sense, not bureaucracy
  • Embedded in a modern, climate-controlled production facility
  • Room to grow — opportunity to rotate into new areas or take on new product lines over time
  • Quarterly bonus (~3%) based on company performance
  • Team culture built on trust, zero egos, and mutual support

Schedule & Logistics:

  • 100% On-Site | Climate-Controlled | One Shift
  • Typical hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM to overlap with assembly operations
  • No travel required
  • Full benefits, including health, dental, 401(k), and paid time off

Ready to Apply? This is a rare opportunity for a skilled, floor-savvy electrical engineer to join a company where your work has clear, immediate impact and where you're treated like a human, not a cog.
