Purpose: This individual is responsible for creating designs and drawings prepared directly from information submitted on a company order form, client’s customer selection sheet, repeated from previous jobs, or from information developed by a design manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with outside sales personnel and customers to accurately complete, safe and quality structures.
• Assures stability, deflection and load carries in a manner that will meet or surpass codes associated with each project.
• Follow quality control procedures for completeness, accuracy, and code compliance for the implementation of design standards.
• Confers with client, technical staff, and other Design Services personnel, and prepares design modifications as required.
• Develop and complete design details from original concept drawings and prepare layouts.
• Draws rough sketches or arranges for finished drawings or photographs to illustrate specified materials or assembly sequence.
• Writes technical descriptions specifying material qualities and properties.
• Review design(s) for most efficient and profitable use of inventory, equipment, and labor as time permits.
• Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement.
