Community Living Support Specialist

Amazing male member in Wausau is seeking to hire Community Living Support Specialist to provide high-quality care, companionship and community integration opportunities. This vital role involves supporting member in his daily activities, ensuring his safety, and promoting independence within a caring, home environment. The ideal candidates will have previous caregiving experience in assisted living, or long-term care settings, and possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the member. The member enjoys going to Menards, music (he has a music room in his home), time doing activities on his iPad, and fishing/outdoors. He is open to learning new skills and enhance his quality of life. He is pretty easy going and full of energy to experience life around him! He is non-verbal and at times he may express frustration. Both full time and part time hours are available in this role! Tell us what schedule works for you!

Duties of this opportunity:

  • Assist member with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming
  • Transport member to and from his day service program
  • Administer medications as prescribed
  • Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary needs and assist member during mealtimes
  • Support member with learning new skills and gaining confidence
  • Provide community integration opportunities based on the member\'s interests
  • Maintain a clean, safe home environment through regular cleaning and household tasks
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being of the member and build a trusting rapport

Preferred Qualities:

  • Experience working with adults with disabilities highly preferred
  • A compassionate, patient, energetic personality
  • Strong communication skills with a desire to help others
  • Must be dependable and dedicated to the member and his well being
  • Must have a driver\'s license and reliable transportation
  • A background check is required before employment can begin
  • Must be 18 years old to apply due to the nature of work
  • Experience working with non-verbal individuals is helpful

Hours/Schedule:

  • Monday-Thursday 3:00pm-8:00pm
  • Friday 3:00pm- Monday 8:30am
  • *The member is looking to hire multiple people for both full-time and part -time positions. Flexible schedule! Pick and choose the shifts that work best for your busy life*

Wage: $16.50 per hour for dayshift- plus a mileage reimbursement of .35 per mile, overnight shifts offer a stipend
