Building Services Supervisor

University Housing is looking for a Building Services Supervisor to join our University Housing Facilities team! This is a supervisory role that leads and oversees the work of Custodial Staff and Facilities Technicians, ensuring facilities are properly maintained for residence halls, apartments, and/or dining locations. Qualified candidates possess previous custodial experience and at least two years of experience as a direct supervisor of employees. University Housing Facilities is a people first employer that supports a work/life balance. Work Schedule: The primary schedule for this position is Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30am - 5:00pm. Occasional weekends based on operational needs with some opportunity to flex your schedule. Work schedule will be set with selected finalist(s) at time of offer. Schedule alterations as operations and position expectations demand.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifies work unit resource needs, manages workflow components, schedules logistics and secures resources for the completion of established projects by internal and external entities
  • Implements the use of and provides training for new supplies/equipment to ensure adequate utilization
  • Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • Develops, implements, and schedules operational work plans of staff for one or multiple projects or work units
  • Identifies, develops and implements facility emergency and hazardous response policies and procedures to align with institutional safety rules and regulations
