At Bestship, we're seeking in Hamburg (Germany) a versatile and solution-driven Software Developer & Data Engineer. In this role, you'll drive the further development of our in-house platform, streamlining maritime processes and enabling seamless collaboration with internal and external stakeholders — shaping the digital backbone of our shipping operations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize software solutions based on Microsoft .NET and C#.
  • Design, implement, and maintain web applications using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Leverage and administer Microsoft Azure services to support cloud applications.
  • Ensure software quality through unit testing, code reviews, and documentation.
  • Contribute to the development of decentralized application architectures and microservices.
  • Build, manage and optimize databases with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Design and implement data models, reporting solutions, and analytics pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data quality and availability.
  • Optimize existing solutions with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.
  • Apply project management principles to efficiently manage development tasks.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to analyze requirements and deliver tailored solutions.

Your Profile

  • Degree in (Business) Informatics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
  • Several years of experience in Microsoft .NET C# development.
  • Solid knowledge of modern web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS).
  • Strong experience in developing and administering Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Azure (e.g. App Services, Cloud Storage, Azure SQL).
  • Proficiency in data modeling, reporting, and analytics (Power BI experience a plus).
  • Understanding of decentralized architectures and microservices.
  • Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI/CD).
  • Familiarity with API development (REST, OAuth) is an advantage.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, Azure DevOps).
  • Independent, structured, and analytical way of working.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Good command of written and spoken English (German language skills are a plus).
