These positions are to be filled in country offices, regional offices or at HQ. The incumbents report to the Unit Manager, Service Chief or IT Officer. Incumbents at this level are expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to questions while having only general guidance. They must demonstrate judgment to manage daily unforeseen events. They are expected to manage resources and to accompany and coordinate a team of support staff.
Coordinate and guide IT maintenance and support activities to enable effective delivery of IT services.
1. Conduct maintenance tasks of systems and hardware, such as specialized network monitoring and system protection, to ensure that technologies function effectively. 2. Control the reliability of technologies, identify user needs, analyze data and develop accurate reports, to recommend IT solutions that facilitate informed decision-making. 3. Respond independently to questions, escalating them to higher levels if necessary, to ensure that routine IT issues are addressed and accurate information is communicated to staff. 4. Provide standard technical training to end-users of the most common technologies and systems, to assist WFP staff in their work. 5. Offer guidance and training to less experienced colleagues to help them provide IT support services and contribute to the strengthening of staff capabilities. 6. Assist in the coordination of the implementation of new applications to provide WFP staff with the tools they need to work effectively. 7. Develop standard documents, such as user manuals or technical sheets, to ensure that staff have access to all the information they need about IT services and products. 8. Bring improvements to the methods and processes used within the IT Division to contribute to the continuous improvement of IT services provided. 9. Ensure the installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems and equipment to optimize services in accordance with established standard operating procedures.
10. Coordinate a team of IT professionals to ensure that individual and collective objectives are met in accordance with applicable regulations and policies. 11. Where applicable, apply emergency response processes defined to help meet urgent food assistance needs.

Gouvernance, stratégie et architecture: Demonstrates knowledge of the general structure of IT governance and system architecture to facilitate operations and help design interactions between systems. Mise en oeuvre du changement, gestion de projet, planification et optimisation: Has elementary knowledge of project management principles and can thus facilitate project planning by providing an initial estimate of timelines, resource utilization, and expenses. Compétences techniques: Continuously updates knowledge of new technologies and modifications to products; is sought for technical advice/consultation and is recognized internally as a technical authority. Gestion des services: Understands and applies the standards and conventions used to ensure excellence in the relevant field, to maintain quality of service and a high level of user satisfaction. Gestion des utilisateurs: Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the internal user requirements in the IT field to effectively meet their needs. Identifies recurring problems to propose sustainable solutions. Gestion des achats et des contrats: Facilitates the selection of technologies by gathering information on suppliers and products to enable comparisons based on defined criteria.
Formation: Completion of secondary education. A post-secondary certificate in the relevant functional area is desirable. Expérience professionnelle: At least six (06) years of experience in the field. Has experience in analyzing service management results and formulating recommendations to develop them. Participated in initiatives to redesign operational procedures and proposed improvements to the management of recorded services. Participated in procurement and budgeting procedures followed in country offices.
Connaissances linguistiques: Mastery (level C) of the French language. Knowledge of the English language would be an asset.
