The Human Resources Specialist works with the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. This team member carries out responsibilities in some or all functional areas: departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organization development, executive administration, and employment. This position has partial responsibility for these areas:
Recruiting and staffing logistics work with the other HR in the following duties:
- Creating/Sending offers
- Creating/Sending employee wizard
- Preparing bulk travel arrangements for full-time and seasonal employees. North/Southbound.
- Prepare timecards.
- Inform management of crew size and placement.
- Separations/Terminations
- Work closely with a travel agent.
- Checking recruitment mailbox.
- Open new job positions that need to be filled, interview, hire, make travel arrangements, and onboard new hires upon arrival.
- Oversee HR orientations for new and former employees.
- Check employees’ timesheets biweekly and run the reports for payroll.
- Other duties assigned.
Performance management and improvement systems:
- Initiate and monitor employee performance plans working in conjunction with supervisors.
- Organization development.
- Work closely with management regarding hiring practices and policies.
- Employment and compliance with regulatory concerns and reporting.
- Back up in employee orientation, development, and training.
- Employee relations:
- Investigate employee concerns with proper documentation and follow through.
- Employee party planning and implementation.
- Planning and implementation of employee recognition.
- Company employee communication.
- Compensation and benefits administration.
- Assist in employee medical/dental/vision enrollment and submit to Seattle.
- Organization and distribution of employee paychecks and special payroll.
- Employee safety, welfare, wellness and health.
- Employee services and counseling.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Human Resources Specialist I contributes to the accomplishment of Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
This position helps implement services, policies, and programs through HR staff, reports to the HR Manager, and assists company managers with HR issues.

Physical Requirements:
- The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- The employee must frequently sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- The employee must regularly stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- This job has minimal contact with moving parts or machinery.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Must maintain confidentiality, multi-task, prioritize and be thorough and accurate in all duties, communication, and documentation.
- MS Office experience required.
- Must have a pleasant, professional, and courteous demeanor.
- Must be reliable, accurate, a self-starter, and capable of following instructions.
- Strong and constant communication with WSI management is required.
- Must be able to understand, read, write, and speak the English language.
- Bilingual ability desired but is not required.
Must be able to reside and work in a multi-cultural environment, being able to get along with people from many various backgrounds.
