Basic Job Functions: The Hydraulic & Lubrication Engineer provides technical leadership for the design, reliability, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of all hydraulic and lubrication systems across the facility. This role ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operation of equipment through effective maintenance strategies, system upgrades, and standards development. Serve as the subject matter expert for hydraulic and lubrication systems plantwide, including power units, valves, actuators, filtration systems, pumps, piping, and oil delivery systems. Lead troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis to improve system reliability, reduce downtime, and eliminate repeat failures. Develop and maintain hydraulic and lubrication system standards, including cleanliness specs, documentation, and preventive/predictive maintenance programs. Support capital projects with system design reviews, installation oversight, commissioning support, flushing specifications, and documentation. Evaluate and implement condition monitoring technologies such as oil sampling, vibration, and pressure/temperature sensing to detect equipment degradation early. Partner with maintenance and operations to train teams on proper system operation, contamination control, and safe maintenance practices. Work closely with OEMs and vendors to specify correct components, manage oil and spare parts inventory, and stay current on product improvements. Track and analyze system performance data to identify improvement opportunities and measure results. Ensure all hydraulic and lubrication systems comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and internal engineering procedures.

Nucor Steel West Virginia's greenfield project is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located in Mason County, along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.

Minimum Qualifications: + Minimum 10 years experience working with hydraulic/lubrication systems in heavy industrial setting. + Hands on experience with Rextoth/Moog hydraulic control valves.
