Geotechnical Engineering Project Manager Job Locations US-WV-Hurricane

At Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), we're looking for a Geotechnical Project Manager to join our growing team in Charleston, WV. You'll work on a wide range of projects across the real estate, oil & gas, and public infrastructure sectors-delivering geotechnical solutions that shape communities and support critical development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute geotechnical subsurface investigations.
  • Coordinate and monitor field drilling and sampling operations.
  • Prepare boring logs and develop laboratory testing programs.
  • Analyze lab data and perform geotechnical design calculations.
  • Prepare technical reports and foundation recommendations.
  • Provide design input for: Building foundations Cut and fill slopes Retaining walls Landslide remediation Roadway rehabilitation
  • Oversee construction materials testing services, including: Earthwork Concrete Foundations Masonry Pavement testing
  • Supervise and mentor technical staff and field personnel.
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of geotechnical experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or Geology (M.S. a plus).
  • Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) certification required.
  • Ability to obtain a Professional Engineering (P.E.) license (if not already licensed).
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
