Protective Services Assurance And Governance Manager

We're seeking a Protective Services Assurance And Governance Manager to join our Protective Services team. Reporting to our Senior Manager Protective Services, this pivotal role supports cross-functional initiatives that enhance security operations, ensure compliance, and foster knowledge-sharing across the business.

You'll work closely with Protective Services leads and the Performance and Delivery Manager to coordinate post-incident reviews, policy documentation, deep-dive analyses, and assurance activities.

Key duties include:

  • Coordinating and documenting post-incident reviews, capturing lessons learnt, and supporting the development of improvement plans to ensure clear, accurate, and timely reporting
  • Conducting in-depth analysis of security incidents, operational risks, and emerging trends, providing actionable insights that inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement
  • Maintaining and standardising Protective Services policies, procedures, and documentation templates to promote consistency, usability, and accessibility across the team
  • Facilitating testing and operational reviews of crisis response and security protocols to strengthen readiness and validate effectiveness
  • Supporting assurance activities including audits, self-assessments, and compliance exercises, contributing to a culture of accountability and risk awareness
  • As required, carry out end to end delivery of security initiatives or projects, working closely with relevant stakeholders
  • Managing structured repositories for incident records, operational documentation, and templates to ensure version control and ease of access
  • Tracking governance actions and assurance outcomes, following up to ensure timely resolution and delivery of commitments
  • Promoting best practice and supporting the Security Operations team in adopting consistent, high-quality approaches to security and risk management

What will you bring?

  • Exceptional written and analytical skills, with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to produce clear, structured documentation that supports operational transparency and decision-making
  • Advanced proficiency in documentation and process analysis, including the ability to interpret complex information, streamline procedures, and maintain consistency across operational materials
  • Strong internal coordination capabilities, with proven experience managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes across multiple workstreams
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, influence across levels, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams including senior leaders, technical experts, and operational staff
  • Resilience and adaptability, with a proactive mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguity while maintaining focus on strategic objectives
  • Background in security, governance, risk, or assurance functions, with an understanding of operational frameworks and compliance requirements would be highly desirable
  • Experience supporting incident management, policy testing, or audit coordination, particularly within regulated or high-risk environments would be highly regarded
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in security management, business continuity, risk assessment, or related disciplines would be advantageous
  • Familiarity with assurance methodologies, including self-assessments, internal audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and contribute to strategic problem-solving
