About the Opportunity: The Support and Connect Team Lead plays a vital role in guiding our team of Peer Wellbeing Navigators, who walk alongside participants throughout their recovery journey. Leading a team of 8–10 team members, you'll foster a culture where every experience with the service is safe, respectful, and inclusive.
This role combines leadership and care – you'll mentor and guide your team to bring out their strengths, build confidence, and support professional growth, while maintaining a warm, evidence-based, and accessible service. Together with your team, you'll support participants through service access, support care coordination, service navigation, peer and wellbeing support. You'll also work closely with other service leaders to ensure care is inclusive, effective, and aligned with best practice.
About You: You're a compassionate and values-driven leader who understands the importance of lived experience in shaping meaningful mental health and wellbeing supports. Inclusive and community-minded, you bring curiosity, integrity, and care to your leadership.
In addition, you'll bring: senior leadership experience (3+ years) in a mental health setting, relevant tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, Nursing, Psychology, or another mental health-related field, with AHPRA registration where applicable, ability to lead and motivate a designated lived experience workforce, demonstrated experience in embedding lived experience across models of care, ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to improve service delivery, satisfactory National Police Check, Working with Children Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to undertake, NDIS Workers Orientation module completion certificate.
About the Service: The Mildura Mental Health and Wellbeing Local is a community-based service supporting people aged 26 years and over who are experiencing mental health challenges, including those with co-occurring alcohol and drug treatment needs. This service is delivered in partnership between Wellways, Mildura Base Hospital, Mallee District Aboriginal Services, and Sunraysia Community Health to ensure care is local, responsive, and inclusive.
