This is an exciting opportunity to help support Wells Fargo's Human Resources transformation to deliver a new experience for our team through process and technology. As a Lead Software Engineer supporting the Incentive Compensation Product, this role will participate in a multi-year project to onboard multiple incentive compensation plans, administrators, and employees into one enterprise tool. Additionally, this person will continue to maintain those plans, data integrations, reports through ongoing enhancements and various technology driven updates.
In this role, you will:
Configure and maintain the Varicent model through creation of parameters, tables, reference data, calculations, data integrations, process workflows, creation and maintenance of payee reports for employees and administrators.
Partner with Incentive Compensation Center of Excellence, Incentive Compensation Product Owner, and multiple product team members to deliver the body of work.
Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact.
Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines.
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs.
Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors.
Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals.
Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor.
Participate in requirements gathering sessions, review user stories, and user acceptance criteria.
Assist with documentation to capture data flow diagrams, data definition documents, decision trees, logic diagrams, requirements documents, model design, and user experience flows.
Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements.
Apply knowledge of industry trends and technology to drive organizational change and position Wells Fargo for the future.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
5+ years of technical design experience.
5+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience.
5+ years of experience with SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools.
3+ years experience implementing or configuration of Varicent.
2+ years of Agile / scrum experience.
Desired Qualifications:
5+ years of general Varicent software experience.
3+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, Shell, VBScript, or JavaScript.
Experience working with transaction-based incentive compensation plans.
HR SaaS implementation experience such as Workday, Oracle or SAP.
Knowledge and understanding of automated workflows design.
Ability to implement a solution and communicate, in clear business terms, the benefits of the proposed risk management approach.
Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
