Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Platform Management Engineering Services, within Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT). This role focuses on scaled horizontal enterprise solutions that are stable, secure, and always on. EFT Engineering Services is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (SRE) to work closely with other custom developers and a peer Site Reliability Engineering practice within EFT supporting multiple technology divisions. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who enjoys and thrives on solving complex problems through innovation impacting change at scale in a diverse environment. You will join a focused team of Application Support and SREs introducing and advancing SRE discipline across several hundred applications and multiple vertical lines of business supporting the entire firm. The team will drive technology transformation and adoption of SRE-aligned enterprise capabilities and products, launch new tooling enablement, automate away complex issues, and integrate with the latest technology. Site Reliability Engineers leverage their experience as software and systems engineers to ensure applications onboarded to SRE are available, have full stack observability, introduce continuous improvement through code and automation, provide operational insight through analytics, continuously test, are integrated with CI/CD, and work with application teams to ensure products and services we provide are always on.

In this role, you will:

• Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
• Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
• Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
• Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
• Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
• Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 4+ years of designing and building complex observability solutions leveraging industry standard toolset and or custom-built solutions
• 4+ years working with configuration and monitoring technologies such as Ansible, Grafana, Elastic, Splunk, Prometheus
• 3+ years of Java, C#, Python, or other object-oriented software engineering experience
• 3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies
• 3 + years of experience supporting enterprise level complex applications and platforms in Production
• 3+ years of experience performing engineering and support tasks on Linux/Unix and Windows Servers
• 3+ years of design, implementation and governance experience with Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing or Machine Learning architecture, GenAI & LLMs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience presenting to senior leadership
• Prior experience driving SRE discipline/adoption across a portfolio
• Experience with Observability/Monitoring technologies: Splunk, Elastic Stack/ELK, Grafana, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Kafka
• 3+ years of design, implementation and governance experience with Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing or Machine Learning architecture, GenAI
• Experience with Container technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, PKS
• 3+ years working with configuration, CI/CD and automation such Ansible, Jenkins, Gitlab, Artifactory
• 3 + years of Unix or Linux administration experience
• Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and Kanban
• Monitoring, Observability and AIOPS: Splunk Observability Cloud, Big Panda, Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic Stack (ELK), AppDynamics
• Software Development: Python and/or combination of other object oriented and scripting language(s)
• Automation: Ansible, Amelia, Terraforms
• Database: SQL, Oracle, PLSQL, MongoDB, RDBMS and NOSQL, Basic Data Modeling
• OS and Platform: Azure, GCP, PCF, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Linux, Windows
• CI/CD: EPL/EPLX, Jenkins, Gitlab, SonarQube, Artifactory, Liquibase
• Track record of creating innovative and complex automation solutions a combination of tooling and code.
• AI & GenAI: Tachyon, Microsoft Co-pilot, NotebookLM etc

Job Expectations:

• Partner with application owners and support teams to understand system architecture, performance baselines, and critical business transactions.
• Liaison between infrastructure monitoring and application-level observability.
• Design and implement end-to-end observability solutions tailored to specific application needs.
• Integrate observability tools (e.g., AppDynamics, Thousand Eyes, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic) into application environments.
• Optimize dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide actionable insights.
• Use SQL to extract, analyze, and correlate data from monitoring platforms and application databases.
• Support root cause analysis and performance tuning through data-driven insights.
• Continuously refine monitoring strategies based on feedback and evolving application landscapes.
• Maintain clear documentation of observability configurations, standards, and best practices.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions with support teams to promote observability maturity.
• Ability to work in a hybrid office environment
• Ability to support outside of regular business hours, as needed
