Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack Java
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Full stack Java in Technology as part of Global Payments & Liquidity Technology (GPLT)/Working capital Solution (WCS) group. The Global Payments & Liquidity Technology (GPLT) group supports the Payment Solutions, Capital Markets Services, Wholesale Digitization, and International Technology across the firm. This diverse portfolio of capabilities spans multiple technology disciplines and strategic innovations. GPLT provides strategic, enterprise-wide technology capabilities and enabling services to our lines of business and management of the applications in terms of skills, stability, security, scalability, speed, and cost. Legacy application rewrite project requires a hands-on engineer to support the end-to-end transition of Legacy application into Modernization.
The Lead Software Engineer candidate will be part of an Agile team supporting a legacy wire payment processing application.
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of Oracle experience
- 4+ years of experience in Full-stack Java development with ReactJS
Desired qualifications:
- Experience in handling an application written in C Language.
- Experience in Cucumber, Gherkin, Selenium, Postman, Java, JavaScript, Linux Shell scripting, SQL, JUnit, JMeter, LoadRunner, Jenkins/CICD
- Expertise in Java programming, test automation tools, SDLC practices, and infrastructure design, while also highlighting the importance of collaboration and T-shaped engineering
- Experience in Finance or Banking focus on payment applications (SWIFT, FED, CHIPS, FUS, M2M)
- Deep understanding of SDLC practices, including Agile and DevOps methodologies, and experience in test-driven development (TDD)
- 2+ years of experience with skills such as Java/Spring Boot/Spring Cloud/Microservices, Kafka/Messaging, REST API, Redis/Distributed Caching, Postgres/MongoDB/Oracle, Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift, Junit/Mockito, ELK/Prometheus/Grafana, AWS/Azure/GCP, ReactJS, Redux, HTML5, CSS3, Jest/Cypress
