Banquet Steward

As a Banquet Steward, you will be working the back of the house and responsible for the process of gathering banquet and culinary needs necessary for an event to help ensure that events are set-up for success. You will work cross-functionally with the event services team as well as maintain the inventory, cleanliness and high standards for all events.

What will I do?

• Assist with preparing the conference facility, off-site locations and events areas for banquet and culinary service with exceptional attention to detail; ensuring all areas are clean, organized and well-stocked
• Support "staging" for events, including culinary needs, plate/china counts, glass, and silverware, set-up
• Assist with maintaining the high standards that have been set in the kitchen for cleanliness and organization
• Assist with keeping par levels for disposables and equipment at expected standards; recognize and communicate needs with the team
• Communicate effectively with all areas within the Event Services Team including banquet steward, banquet manager, sales, culinary, operations teams and external partners (Ex. Store Chefs) to ensure the needs are met for all events
• Maintain and track inventory in various inventory systems before and after events
• Adjust planned work to meet multiple, changing demands in fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work in a variety of work environments, including indoor and outdoor sites
• Provide additional support to Event Services team as needed

Required Qualifications:

• 2 or more years of experience working as a kitchen/banquet steward, or other service–oriented position in a multi-faceted food service facility, including restaurant, hotel, country club, conference center, casino, theme park, etc.
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Microsoft Office skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with an inventory management system, experience working with BEOs (Banquet Event Order forms)
• Enthusiasm for and knowledge of relevant products and services
• HACCP: Food Safety Programs certification
• ServSafe Alcohol Certification
• Food Safety Manager Certification
