Customer Service Representative (CSR)
Sanitary Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our Hermiston team. Location: Hermiston, OR
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM
Starting Wage: $24.96 per hour
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Customer Support & Communication
- Respond to high-volume inbound calls and in-person inquiries regarding service requests, account changes, and general customer needs.
- Interview customers and accurately enter information into multiple computer systems.
- Provide clear, professional communication to resolve service issues, answer questions, and promote goodwill.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve customer disputes and ensure service accuracy.
Account & Service Processing
- Process orders for service installation, changes, discontinuation, and turn-ons.
- Complete contract forms, determine service charges, collect deposits, and issue change-of-address or discontinuance orders.
- Perform data entry across multiple platforms with accuracy and attention to detail.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Maintain organized files, documents, and customer records.
- Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks in coordination with the accounting team.
- Demonstrate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, email, and proprietary operational systems.
- Provide Scale House lunch coverage two times per month (Saturday or Sunday).
Sales & Service Promotion
- Identify customer needs and recommend new or additional services.
- Deliver service in a manner that supports customer satisfaction and company reputation.
Working Conditions
- Office-based environment with individual workstation, computer, telephone, and headset.
- Fast-paced call center setting with repetitive tasks and minimal downtime between calls.
- Noise levels may vary; calls may be monitored for quality assurance.
- Extended periods of sitting, typing, and computer use are common.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of customer service experience (call center experience preferred).
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, email, and data entry systems.
- Strong typing and 10-key skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
