Clinical Social Work Manager

Responsible for operational management of clinical social work across outpatient oncology service line. Includes all operations necessary to deliver services such as staff supervision, personnel management, physician relationships, professional practice and policies, access to electronic medical systems, reporting and process improvement. Assists the Director in strategic planning and enhancement of overall clinical services.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees, coordinates, and assigns activities and duties in the delivery of patient care, ensuring quality interactions in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Manages multiple clinic locations. Duties include identify staffing needs, position development, hiring, training, competency development, mentoring, performance management and performance evaluation. Assures licensing and certification are current.
  • Facilitates the development and delivery of services that support early identification, engagement, and retention of patients to facilitate the delivery of consistent high-quality health care.
  • Prepares policies and procedures to support the social services function.
  • Develops and maintains positive patient/customer relationships with a high level of patient satisfaction with social support services.
  • Provides direction and assistance in resolving issues or concerns brought forward by physicians, staff, patients and referring physicians.
  • Collaborates with other operational and clinical leaders in planning patient care services, operational budgets and training.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitors statistics and prepares reports.
  • Cultivates leadership and managerial skills amongst emerging staff to enhance the organizations capacity to implement innovative programs, support groups or services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree - Social Work

Certifications: Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration

Work Experience: Clinical (3 Years)

Skills: Not Applicable

Driver's License: A driver's license is not required for this position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Master's degree - Social Work

Certifications: No additional certification beyond what is stated in the Required Qualifications section.
