Student Services Coordinator/Advisor 1

Are you passionate about helping others navigate their educational journey? In this role, you will be the first point of contact for students, families, faculty, and staff—guiding them through the many aspects of Student Financial Services. You'll provide personalized support and expert advice on financial aid, scholarships, and student account services.

As part of our dynamic team, you will play a key role in our student services and outreach efforts. You'll use your skills in financial aid processing, award adjustments, professional judgment, and needs analysis to ensure students receive the support they need. You'll also collaborate with other departments to streamline services and improve the student experience.

Outreach is a vital part of this position. You'll represent our office at recruitment events, deliver presentations to diverse audiences, and help spread awareness about financial resources available to students.

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible. Monthly Salary: $3,750.85 - $5,397.56 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Required Qualifications:

  • Positions require a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Developed skills in written and verbal communication, including experience with large group presentations.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends/evenings.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with student services in a higher education setting especially Admissions, Student Accounts, Academic Advising, Registrar, Graduate School, Athletics, and/or Housing and Dining.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft.
  • Experience with financial aid programs sponsored by the State of Washington.
  • Master's Degree
