Project Kuiper Site Acquisition Manager

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,000+ satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

In this role, you are accountable for implementation and ongoing administration of tooling and mechanisms to allow Project Kuiper's Site Acquisition team to scale to secure land for terrestrial infrastructure around the globe.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Implementation of and ongoing administration and support for new Asset Management software
  • Direct interaction with Asset Management software vendor support team to create instance
  • Build-out of new workflows and process improvements
  • Create, document, and implement process change and process improvements within tool
  • Build, implement and manage data quality checks
  • Identify system bugs and resolve within established SLA
  • Identify and implement lessons learned and maintain summary document
  • Optimization of end-to-end site acquisition process flows, data storage and milestone tracking
  • Establishment, documentation and enforcement of mechanisms to keep the team aligned
  • Writing papers to secure approval for initiatives to enhance data tracking, storage and sharing

A day in the life This role is dynamic and intellectually stimulating, involving close collaboration with the team manager, regional leads, and other GIS stakeholders. You will immerse yourself in both direct and indirect aspects of the site acquisition process to define and enhance mechanisms for the team and stakeholders. With consistently high standards, you'll seek ways to elevate team performance, quality, and cost-efficiency. You'll work hand-in-hand with the regional teams to customize tooling to support candidate identification and review, cross-team approvals, data and document storage and asset management. This role requires experience in technical program management, working with customers, stakeholders, and software engineering teams. We seek an individual eager to embrace the challenge and push the boundaries of what's possible.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
  • 2+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • Experience in technical program management working directly with software engineering teams
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Prior experience in a telecom (wireless or other) Site Acquisition program with implementation and ongoing administration of the Sitetracker asset management tool required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
