Strategic Leadership Role For Data Platform Development
In this strategic leadership role, you will spearhead the development of a cutting-edge data platform that powers clinical insights and healthcare innovation. You'll define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and engineering excellence across a globally distributed team, ensuring our platform is scalable, secure, and optimized for clinical data workflows. As a seasoned engineering leader, you bring deep experience in building and scaling data platform products—ideally in regulated or healthcare environments. You will partner closely with product, data science, and clinical teams to deliver high-impact solutions that enable precision medicine, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the technical vision, architecture, and engineering standards for the Clinical Data Platform, ensuring scalability, extensibility, and long-term maintainability.
- Lead and mentor high-performing engineering teams across Bellevue and Bangalore, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Drive end-to-end execution of platform capabilities including data ingestion, normalization, governance, privacy, and analytics enablement, with a strong focus on clinical data workflows.
- Guide cross-functional efforts from early ideation through release, aligning engineering, product, clinical, and data science teams around shared goals and delivery milestones.
- Influence organizational priorities and technical direction, shaping the roadmap and aligning system owners to ensure platform investments support strategic business and clinical outcomes.
- Represent complex trade-offs and solution paths to stakeholders, clearly articulating technical risks, benefits, and alternatives to enable informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and implement robust security and privacy controls across all platform components.
- Champion engineering excellence, driving best practices in software development, testing, observability, and operational readiness.
- Deliver solutions that meet GE HealthCare's high standards for customer satisfaction, efficiency, stability, simplicity, and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 15+ years of software engineering experience, including 7+ years in engineering leadership roles.
- 7+ years of experience designing and developing highly scalable web services and data platforms.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and modern development practices including object-oriented programming (e.g., C++, Java), service-oriented architecture, and agile methodologies.
- Experience in partnering and effectively communicating with product and program management teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to represent complex technical decisions and trade-offs to senior leadership.
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of Engineering Leadership experience in healthcare or regulated environments.
- Hands-on technical expertise in building and scaling data platforms or infrastructure products.
- Experience working with clinical data and healthcare standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR), and familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA and GDPR.
- Demonstrated ability to translate raw product requirements into scalable software architectures and designs.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to inform decisions and measure success.
- Project management experience with agile development methodologies.
- Passion for improving healthcare outcomes through technology.
Eligibility Requirements
GE HealthCare may choose to sponsor visas as business needs dictate. For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $222,640.00-$333,960.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
