Solution Development Costing Engineer

The Dematic Solution Development Costing Engineer will support the Solution Development North America estimating team with costing audits, analysis, bridging, and comparisons to ensure successful cost outputs are delivered to the business and end customer. We seek an innovative, analytical candidate well-versed in the global supply chain landscape and value engineering principals. This role involves collaborating with multiple teams to develop highly accurate cost models and value engineering opportunities. This role will also provide comprehensive executive summaries to the Americas Leadership team for all "critical" projects requiring leadership approval. This is a critical position within Solution Development that will lead the growth and maturation of this new, hybrid role for the function.

Tasks and Qualifications: What You Will Do in This Role: The Solution Design Project Engineer on the Key Accounts team is responsible for overseeing the engineering efforts and estimation of large and complex MHE solution. This team member manages the definition of solution requirements, supports customer layout reviews, generates/directs the development of solution design, supports concepting efforts and generates system cost estimations using department tools/processes. This role will lead, schedule, plan and manage all the technical activities with attention to project accuracy and quality.

Solution Design Project Engineer Responsibilities: Review requirements from customer/sales team and closely collaborate with relevant internal/external stakeholders to generate executable system concepts Lead team members, create 3D models and generate proposal drawings to achieve concept freeze. Produce material lists and project scope of work summaries. Submit quote request and validate vendor quotes in conjunction with procurement teams Apply standard subsystems, designs and modules to solutions where appropriate Identify relevant project risks and assist with generation of mitigation strategies Establish priorities, and promote effective interaction between departments Lead technical review and pricing reviews Create cost breakouts and bridging as required Responsible for all project engineering efforts for assigned projects Capable of recognizing and understanding when to apply standard subsystems and modules Able to apply value engineering principals to optimize the effectiveness of the system where possible Accountable for technical, cost, and contracting aspects of projects and serves as a key contact for intra-company departments and vendors Thoroughly understand customer RFPs, specifications and requirements Ensure compliance of SD project process
