Translation Service Technology Team Leader

Description Translation Services is expanding and looking for a seasoned tech leader to own and operate core technology services that manage translated content across all of Amazon and its subsidiaries. Key job responsibilities include leading talented engineering teams to build high-performance, large scale language translation services that support Amazon's current and future growth. You will drive innovation and be part of an organization where people, technology and innovation come together to build products and solve problems for Amazon. Technology solutions and services we build enable Amazon's new business growth, provide operational efficiency through automation, and manage the highest quality translations with the lowest cost possible. We are looking for an exceptional Software Development Manager to enable our customers with scale and capabilities. Above all else, the successful candidate will be a passionate builder of talent and teams. The SDM will leverage our business processes expertise and lead a team of engineers to deliver innovation at scale for Amazon's global customers. You will be accountable for driving the entire product life-cycle, from platform product definition through specification, coding, quality assurance, and launch.

A successful candidate will bring deep technical and software expertise. The responsibility extends from determining and managing our technical direction, ensuring smooth product execution, to cultivating valued stakeholder relationships.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective

The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
