The Opportunity with McKinstry

McKinstry is looking to add a Senior Construction Project Engineer to our growing Data Center Innovations division in Pasco. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the Request for Proposal (RFP) and procurement process along with tracking current and future jobs, reviewing contracts and drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinating equipment procurement with our purchasing department and outside vendors.
  • Scheduling, developing the scope of work with subcontractors, and assisting in the preparation of monthly financial reporting.
  • Communicating with general contractors, architects, engineers, and owners.
  • Working closely with our project management team and responding to questions raised by superintendents and field workers on a daily basis.
  • Working with the project team to solve problems and gaining hands-on experience in the field.
  • Creating and responding to requests for information (RFI).
  • Developing, processing, and tracking equipment, materials, and informational submittals.
  • Creating site-specific work plans and creating operations and maintenance manuals for our clients.
  • Processing change orders, creating billing breakdowns, and conducting quantify take-off and estimates.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry:

  • BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management or comparable degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience in engineering, project management or construction is required.
  • Experience working for a General Contractor or Major Mechanical Subcontractor preferred.
  • Proficient with scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera and/or Suretrak preferred.
  • Completed OSHA 30 class is required.

The pay range for this position is $36.48 - $55.77 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This is a non-exempt role and will be paid hourly. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
