Kyndryl Senior Network Engineer

At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage, and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. We are always moving forward – always pushing ourselves to go further in our efforts to build a more equitable, inclusive world for our employees, our customers, and our communities.

The Role Summary

Skytap, a Kyndryl company, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong expertise in enterprise networking and cloud interconnects. You will play a critical role in keeping our hybrid network infrastructure reliable, scalable, and secure. This role requires hands-on technical depth in routing, automation, and documentation, with opportunities to help shape connectivity between data centers, cloud platforms, and customer environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Interconnect on-prem networks with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) using ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, VPN, and virtual network peering.
  • Operate and troubleshoot multi-site, multi-datacenter connectivity, ensuring high availability and resiliency.
  • Monitor performance, analyze traffic patterns, and adjust routing for latency, scale, and fault tolerance.
  • Support lifecycle management: upgrades, patches, firmware maintenance, and structured change management.
  • Produce clear high-level design documents, detailed design documents, topology maps, and runbooks; ensure they remain current as changes are introduced.
  • Collaborate with other teams in the organization to align designs with business and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in capacity planning and forecasting; ensure network can accommodate growth.
  • Build automation into day-to-day operations and deployments using Ansible, Python, and Terraform.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.

Your Future at Kyndryl

As a Senior Network Engineer on our team, you will have the chance to work on high-impact architecture initiatives that shape the foundation of our global network. This role offers broad exposure to architectural strategy, hybrid cloud design, and industry best practices for network scalability. You will help establish design standards, create the documentation that drives consistent execution, and influence technology decisions across the organization.

Who You Are

You're good at what you do and possess the required experience to prove it. However, equally as important – you have a growth mindset; keen to drive your own personal and professional development. You are customer-focused – someone who prioritizes customer success in their work. And finally, you're open and borderless – naturally inclusive in how you work with others.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5–8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
  • Strong with BGP, OSPF, VRF, and EVPL.
  • Experience designing/operating multi-cloud interconnects (ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, vWAN, transit gateways).
  • Automation skills with Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Comfortable with data center spine/leaf concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting of routing incidents across hybrid environments.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Skills and Expertise

  • Experience with observability and visualization tools (e.g., Grafana, NetBox, SolarWinds, InfluxDB/Telegraf).
  • Exposure to AI-assisted troubleshooting and monitoring platforms (AI-driven log analysis, anomaly detection).
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOC2) and how they impact network design and operations.
  • Experience implementing segmentation and zero-trust principles in enterprise or hybrid networks.
  • Understanding of firewall rule management, policy audits, and secure connectivity patterns across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Certifications such as CCNP (Enterprise, Datacenter, Security), CCIE (Enterprise, Datacenter, Security), or cloud networking credentials (Azure, AWS, GCP).

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • A dynamic and inclusive work environment.
  • The chance to work with a leading global IT services company.
