Projects Engineer I -- Structures & Powerplant

CubCrafters, an industry leader in light aircraft manufacturing, has an opening for a Projects Engineer I -- Structures & Powerplant. It is a job that offers a wide variety and the opportunity to be part of a great team to design, build, test, and innovate aircraft. This position will have split responsibility between designing structural products and powerplant systems, testing those designs, and other tasks as needs arise. This position would start with a project that has a structural focus on a special developmental project. This project would consume on average 70% of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing new products -- structural and powerplant focus
  • Structural testing new products
  • Participate in flight testing new products
  • Implementing new products onto the production line
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Success Indicators:

  • Conducts business respectfully and productively
  • Production support needs are handled in a timely fashion so that the line continues to operate and meet its goals
  • Bring about successful implementation of new products through successful design and test work
  • Foster positive relationships with team members across departments

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering or Aero Engineering Degree
  • 2+ years' experience preferred
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes (lean manufacturing preferred)
  • Strong technical, analytical, problem and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic work environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present data effectively

Compensation:

Pay is DOE:

  • Hourly: $28 to $41 per hour
  • Salary: $77,968 to $85,280 annually
  • Sick Leave benefit which is greater than required under the WA State law
  • Six paid holidays annually
  • Employee-discretionary tax-free savings in the form of a 401K plan with CubCrafters matching contributions up to 4% after 6 months of employment
  • Company pays 75% of base medical plan for employee and 25% for employee's dependents. Separate vision, dental, life, and LTD available
  • Health care plan is available the first month after 30 days of continuous employment
  • Access to CubCrafters' aircraft, rental at the employee's rate
