 
                                                
                                            The purpose of this position is to perform regular janitorial services to maintain the cleanliness and function of the facility and vehicles, maintain facility and vehicles by completing maintenance tasks and coordinating with outside vendors, to drive a company vehicle to collect donations and supplies from local vendors, and to support Emergency Disaster Services with recruiting and training a team and deploying to local disasters as needed.
Essential duties and responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness of corps buildings, including the parking lot, landscaping, and walkways; maintaining the cleanliness and repair of vehicles; conducting facility and equipment repairs; coordinating with maintenance vendors and completing the internal approval process when needed; maintaining inventory of janitorial supplies and maintenance equipment; setting up and preparing rooms for program usage; primary drive for picking up and distributing donations, and any other needs, such as landfill and loading/unloading food donations and equipment/supplies; instituting the Injury and Illness Prevention Program; assisting the Corps Officer in recruiting and training an Emergency Disaster Team; ensuring the canteen is always ready to deploy, mechanically sound, and with all needed equipment; assisting where needed with seasonal fundraising, distributions, and other programs; attending all staff meetings and other required meetings; and other duties, as assigned.
Knowledge, skills, abilities, and other qualification requirements include a high school diploma, ability to speak and write the English language at a moderate level, high degree of confidentiality, minimum one (1) year of maintenance and/or janitorial service preferred, ability to keep the highest standard of hygiene, strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handle multiple tasks.
Certificates, licenses, and registrations required include a valid Washington Class C Driver's License, being able to drive a Salvation Army vehicle, being 21 years or older, passing The Salvation Army's in-house driving test and Motor Vehicle Records check, and passing a criminal background check.
Physical requirements include the ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis; grasp, push, and/or pull objects; reach overhead; operate a telephone; lift up to 25 lbs.; and process written, visual, and/or verbal information.
