Senior Network & Systems Engineer

Robert Half is seeking a Senior Network & Systems Engineer to serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for a complex, largely legacy-based environment. This position is a three-month contract opportunity with the potential to extend or convert and is a hybrid position. Apply today!

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hour work week – (Flexible hours)

Location: Hybrid – three days onsite (Flexible)

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor, maintain, and optimize network and systems performance across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Act as the Tier 3 point of escalation for critical infrastructure and service issues.
• Lead and execute change management initiatives related to network and systems updates.
• Manage and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis.
• Drive compliance efforts and support continuous improvement across infrastructure and security practices.
• Oversee physical device management, including asset management and disaster recovery planning.
• Support and maintain critical business services to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting best practices and technical growth.

Required Qualifications:

• Senior-level experience in Network and Systems Engineering.
• Proven experience supporting and modernizing legacy environments.
• Strong expertise with Cisco switches, including SD-WAN, across multiple Cisco versions.
• Hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls.
• Solid experience with VMware, including maintenance and support of virtualized systems.
• Experience supporting both on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of Exchange (On-Prem).
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and supporting junior engineers.
