Apple Services Engineering Search Team

The ASE Search team powers search for App Store, Apple Music, Apple TV, Podcasts, Books, iTunes and more on iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, web browsers, 3rd party devices, and Windows. We're a diverse collective of problem solvers and doers, continually reimagining what's possible to help us all find what we love in new ways. We are looking for extraordinary machine learning engineers and researchers to help build next-generation search features for Apple's ground breaking devices and platforms. We are a key part of the Apple ecosystem.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong industry experience with one or more of the following: search, classification, regression, recommendation systems, ranking systems, fraud detection, online advertising, or related
• MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related subject area
• Knowledge of ML models using Transformers, Large Language Models, Reinforcement Learning, TensorFlow, and PyTorch

Preferred Qualifications:

• Deep understanding of search and information retrieval fundamentals including indexing, query understanding
• 2+ years of relevant industry experience
• Experience in training and evaluating machine learning models using Python/PyTorch/TensorFlow
• Experience building big data pipelines with Scala, and Spark
• Experience in distributed computing, micro-services architecture, search and related technologies.
• Experience with GoLang is a plus
• Familiarity with A/B experimentation and data/data-driven product development
• Experience leading technical aspects for complex multi-functional projects

Pay & Benefits:

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $210,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
