Alaska Airlines is seeking a Maintenance Subject Matter Expert (MSS) to oversee all phases of maintenance response operations at Alaska Airlines (AS). This role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions on maintenance response activities ensuring safety, compliance, and on-time performance of the AS fleet.
Act as a subject matter expert: Oversee all phases of maintenance response operations. Provide recommendations and responses to Sector Managers, Routers, and Flight Operations for maintenance-related needs, including monitoring of ACARS, MCC coordination, and ETR changes.
Decision-making: Exercise considerable judgment to make decisions on safety, compliance, controllable D0, boarding holds, and swap decisions to positively impact the operation.
Collaboration: Influence across teams and company with Maintenance, Flight Operations, Ramp, FIDS, Sector Managers, SEA OPS, FPS, and Maintenance Planning to determine acceptable aircraft parking and maintenance-related movements.
Partnerships: Work with Maintenance leadership and GOCM to research and properly code delays. Collaborate with Line Maintenance Supervisors and Leads throughout the shift to maintain continuity of the operation and direct all Maintenance-related calls to the correct Lead and response unit.
Other duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Required: Four years of airline operations experience, including ground operations, repairs, purchasing, material control, or maintenance. Bachelor's degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to enhance both customer and employee satisfaction. Demonstrated ability to motivate people and communicate effectively (e.g., verbal, written, and listening). Active listener who values diverse perspectives and fosters an inclusive environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to drive outcomes in the best interest of the company. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum age of 18. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred: Knowledge of Alaska Airlines System Regulations and Federal Aviation Administrations (FAA) policies and procedures. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Airbus and Boeing experience.

$97,200 -- $145,800 / year
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees.
