Event Sales Manager

The Event Sales Manager is a fully competent individual who has experience in the sales process and function of a hotel. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, selling meeting space, weddings, corporate events, social events, galas, holiday parties and other Hyatt services to customer groups and wedding/social clients. Primary sales efforts are in Banquet Food, Beverage and Meeting Room Rental, and include managing accounts, conducting corporate and wedding site inspections, soliciting and generating new business. Duties also include selling, planning and servicing short-term business, within 30 – 60 days, preparing and presenting effective proposals, maintaining well organized documentation and reports, utilizing Hyatt systems and coordinating customer service requirements as appropriate. The Event Sales Manager will also participate in, and may lead event meetings, sales and other staff meetings. The Event Sales Manager also works as a team member with the sales and event staff, and in close contact with assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff.

The starting salary for this position is $66,100 to $69,500 which is applicable for the first year of employment. The entire range for the position is $66,100 to $95,700. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, including experience, qualifications and education. Qualifications:

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel group, event, wedding sales or comparable experience preferred
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well and perform under pressure
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
  • Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training
  • Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training
