Job Opportunity At IBM

At IBM, work is more than a job - it's a calling: To build. To design. To code. To consult. To think along with clients and sell. To make markets. To invent. To collaborate. Not just to do something better, but to attempt things you've never thought possible. Are you ready to lead in this new era of technology and solve some of the world's most challenging problems? If so, let's talk.

Your role and responsibilities include gathering and collecting data, storing it, performing batch or real-time processing, and serving it via an API to data scientists for easy querying. Data engineers may work closely with data architects and data scientists, dealing with database integration and messy, unstructured data sets. Analytical problem solving involves recognizing and addressing complex functional problems, integrating multiple data sources for thorough analyses, streamlining complex workflows, collaborating on cross-functional projects, applying new tools and technologies, and driving initiatives to automate key processes.

Autonomy and impact to the organization include leading initiatives beyond department, influencing project outcomes, driving significant contributions to organizational success, making informed decisions regarding project direction, resource allocation, and timelines, evaluating potential risks and benefits independently, leading key projects, translating functional plans into operational processes, and bringing fresh points of view.

Skills and collaboration involve being a recognized specialist in one or several areas, recommending changes to policies, establishing procedures, having an advanced understanding of business lines, exhibiting strong communication skills, practicing successful negotiation, advising other professionals, developing collaborative relationships, utilizing group dynamics, supervising junior professionals, and proficiently using advanced digital tools and AI technologies.

Required technical and professional expertise includes proven experience as a Data Engineer or Analytics Engineer, hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, strong SQL skills, experience with data modeling, experience with Azure Data services, understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and analytics architectures, experience working in client-facing or consulting environments, and strong communication skills in English.

IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, caste, genetics, pregnancy, disability, neurodivergence, age, veteran status, or other characteristics. IBM is also committed to compliance with all fair employment practices regarding citizenship and immigration status.
