Aerospace Engineering Program Manager

Capgemini Engineering is looking for an Engagement Manager for managing projects in Aerospace and Defense Industry. The main objective is to reach operational excellence for all our projects and to ensure the right performance with customer satisfaction. Scope includes program management for projects in Systems Engineering and other Engineering and R&D domains for one or more Aerospace and Defense projects. This position is part of Capgemini Engineering North America Delivery Organization and would report to Delivery Head of Aerospace and Defense delivery unit.

Your Role:

  • Manage contract requirements.
  • Be the focal point for our customer on this project portfolio.
  • Coordinate internal resources with Engineering Manager and ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Lead the delivery of Systems Engineering work packages to our clients and ensure on-time and on-quality deliveries within scope and budget.
  • Develop project objectives, involving all relevant resources and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Develop a detailed project plan and monitor/control project execution.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage project scope, schedule and costs changes.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Perform risk management to minimize the impact of project risks.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients and all stakeholder.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Understand the technical scope and be able to optimize the way of working.
  • Manage aerospace Systems Engineering projects, with a complete view from the product life cycle, ranging from consulting activities to the execution of core engineering services.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Engineering background, preferably in following engineering fields: Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering.
  • Knowledge and experience systems engineering processes in the aeronautical industry.
  • Experience working in a engineering consultancy environment and/or Aircraft OEM preferred.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • More than 10 years' experience in an engineering field.
  • Project management experience in the aeronautic industry.
  • Familiar with PM commercial tools as JIRA, MS Project, Sharepoint.
  • Used to work in transnational projects with team based on different time zones and cultures.
