Your New Role

The Staff Cloud Engineer is part of the Cloud Team within the Global Infrastructure Core Technologies organization, reporting to the Manager of Cloud Engineering. In this role, you will lead and execute cloud initiatives across multiple public cloud platforms—primarily AWS and Azure, with exposure GCP—supporting scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure for global enterprise workloads. You will architect, design, and implement solutions from the cloud account and organizational level down through accounts, applying best practices in automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), and CI/CD to ensure operational excellence and platform reliability. This position blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical delivery, guiding projects and engineering standards that enable teams to build, migrate, and operate effectively in the cloud. Collaboration is core to this role—you'll partner closely with cloud and DevOps engineers, architects, network engineers, and software developers to define and execute cloud strategy, manage migrations, and continuously improve the environment’s resilience and performance.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and automation pipelines.
  • Lead modernization efforts to standardize infrastructure, streamline deployments, and eliminate manual processes through automation.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and DevOps teams to define best practices for cloud resource provisioning, networking, and security.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and incorporate them into the cloud ecosystem where they provide measurable benefit in performance, reliability, or cost efficiency.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to define cloud strategy, architecture standards, and project roadmaps supporting business objectives.
  • Lead technical planning, design reviews, and execution of key cloud initiatives and migrations.
  • Influence and mentor other engineers through guidance, documentation, and example to drive consistency across the organization.
  • Work with leadership to prioritize projects and ensure alignment between engineering goals and enterprise strategy.
  • Analyze cloud resource usage, performance metrics, and cost drivers to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Build and refine dashboards and reports that support visibility into platform health, efficiency, and spend.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to improve automation coverage, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with FinOps and operations teams to establish cost management policies and track realization of savings targets.
  • Support cloud operations teams in maintaining highly available infrastructure through proactive monitoring and incident response.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and post-incident reviews to ensure long-term reliability improvements.
  • Contribute to runbooks, operational standards, and knowledge sharing to enable consistent and efficient support practices.
