Performs minor to intermediate inspections, repairs, and replacements following company guidelines on all Walmart equipment, for example, trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, service vehicles by creating and processing work orders, performing minor diagnostics with technical and electronic equipment on the various Walmart equipment, for example, tractor engine components, electronics, drive trains, minor HVAC, assessing maintenance, repair, and replacement needs, identifying needed parts and possible solutions, consulting with others and selecting the best possible solution, conducting repairs and replacements, for example, repair drivetrain components, repairing and replacing communication equipment and onboard technology, tractor and minor trailer diagnostics of HVAC systems following company and Department of Transportation DOT guidelines and requirements, communicating with individuals or groups, for example, customers, suppliers, associates, verbally and in writing.
Receive fuel drops and conduct fuel sampling by monitoring the drop to ensure safety compliance following procedures for fuel additives, monitoring tank levels before and after the drop, collecting and preparing fuel samples for analysis and shipping, and completing appropriate paperwork.
Correctly identifies and performs warrantable repairs by entering accurate information on the condition, cause, and correction into the maintenance system, completing warranty tags as needed, and ensuring parts are retained according to warranty guidelines and creating and processing warranty claims to ensure proper credit is received according to company guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications: 2 years' experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair OR a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance. Valid state-issued driver's license. Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25. Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19.
Preferred Qualifications: Microsoft Office ASE Certification - Certification, Transportation - Driver's License Class F - Certification.
