Software Engineer III - Mobile

As a Software Engineer III at Walmart, you will lead the design and development of scalable software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective resolutions to enhance system performance. This role involves managing projects from requirements gathering through delivery, ensuring code quality, security, and maintainability. You will also provide technical guidance to small engineering groups and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting Walmart's commitment to innovation and operational excellence.

The team develops the Walmart Business app, focusing on small and medium-sized businesses by delivering features that address their specific needs. Operating within a dynamic engineering organization, the team influences the product roadmap and collaborates closely with cross-functional partners to prioritize customer requirements. As a growing segment of Walmart, the team functions with a startup mindset while leveraging advanced Generative AI technologies. This environment fosters innovation, continuous improvement, and direct impact on product development and customer success.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement complex features in Walmart iOS or Android application.
  • Help define roadmap for our team by working closely with product and/or technology partners to build the experience for iOS or Android platform.
  • Proficiency in iOS or Android platform and deeper understanding in CI/CD frameworks for iOS or Android to improve developer productivity.
  • Focus on Test Automation and designing the framework for same.
  • Provide documentation for all of the solutions in place.
  • Embrace Best Practices and contribute to a culture of craftsmanship and innovation.

What You'll Bring

  • At least 4 years experience in software engineering or related area.
  • At least 2 years of Mobile Engineer experience with iOS or Android or Software Development
  • At least 2 years of experience building native iOS apps in Swift or Android apps in Kotlin.
  • Shipped one or more iOS or Android applications which are still available in the App Store.
  • Played significant role in delivery of complex projects.
  • Sound experience to build CI/CD pipeline.
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving capability.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical designs.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead small engineering teams and mentor associates effectively.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Stock

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications...

Master’s degree in Computer Science.
