Automation Controls Engineer

Completes work orders, records logs, and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures. Programs and troubleshoots automated control systems for example integration electronics, robotics, fiber optic sensors, pneumatic/hydraulic controls, touch panels, programmable logic controls, human machine interface. Utilizes one-line and electrical schematic designs, electrical equipment controls, instrumentations, and configurations for example pump, Variable Frequency Drive, Allen Bradley Factory Talk, Siemens BR brand controllers and systems. Provides on-call remote and onsite technical support for automation equipment. Trains associates on the operation and repair of automation equipment. Manages the daily operations of automation systems by performing routine maintenance of instruments and controls utilized to process materials from raw states to finished products. Upgrades and replaces components and control systems. Continuously monitors all operations processes. Identifies operational malfunctions and corrects malfunctions as needed. Supports plant operation, quality, and continuous improvement programs for example Break Down Analysis, Break Down Deployments, Executes process improvement projects by identifying customer and operational needs. Identifies performance standards, measures progress, and adjusts performance accordingly. Develops contingency plans. Demonstrates adaptability and supports continuous learning. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, using the Open Door Policy, and applying these in executing business processes and practices. Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners, identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations, carrying out tasks, communicating progress and information, determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities, and adapting to and learning from change difficulties and feedback.

High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year’s experience in maintenance or related field OR 3 year’s experience in maintenance or related field. Professional certification in engineering, technology, or related field. 2 years’ experience PLC/Robot Programming.
