Summary Description of Position

Assist the Operations Support group on various analytical projects, including operating and capital budgets, financial planning models. Provide management with operational performance analysis and financial results in preparation for monthly operational reporting and quarterly business reviews. Perform analysis using larger data sets, creating clear, simple reporting for the reader to consume.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Candidates must possess strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently, think strategically, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven process improvement and ability to plan, organize, and complete projects.
  • Ability to make decisive conclusions and judgments with limited guidance.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Excel are required. A plus is knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • Skilled in analyzing financial statements and researching significant fluctuations/variances or performance trends.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle simultaneous projects under tight time pressures.
  • Requires the ability to analyze and interpret financial results.
  • Expertise in data analysis and synthesis with the ability to communicate with and credibly engage colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge and understanding of aggregates industry dynamics a significant plus.
  • Requires project management skills, including time management and prioritization, and knowledge of tools and resources available for various types of assessments.
  • Requires knowledge of finance principles and processes.
  • Relationship between the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide analytics support for monthly performance reviews.
  • Assist analytical support on capital spending, budgeting and financial projecting.
  • Work on additional ad hoc analytical studies and research projects as appropriate.
  • Develop quantitative and qualitative analysis for management and other groups in the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills Required

Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or other analytical degree preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit for long periods.
  • Able to use common office tools and technology, such as cell/office telephone, calculator, computer, and other electronic devices.
  • Travel approximately 85%.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimum direct supervision.
  • Work in a stressful, detailed and deadline oriented environment that requires thinking and acting quickly and creatively to resolve problems.
  • Memorize and recall detailed information.
  • Must be comfortable communicating with employees throughout the organization, including via email and phone.
