The Director of Finance & Operations will be responsible for owning the company's financial strategy, planning, and reporting, while also overseeing the operational backbone of the business. You'll work closely with the CEO and cross-functional teams, especially product and engineering, to drive fiscal discipline, operational efficiency, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Strategy

• Lead financial planning, annual budgeting, and quarterly forecasting.
• Oversee monthly close, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
• Partner with leadership to develop and track KPIs, financial models, and strategic plans.
• Manage investor reporting, fundraising support, and board-level financial updates.
• Ensure financial compliance with GAAP and all relevant regulations.

Operations & People

• Run payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee HR functions including onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement.
• Manage office operations, procurement, and vendor relationships.
• Lead compliance initiatives related to labor laws, data privacy, and corporate governance.
• Implement and optimize operational systems, processes, and best practices across teams.

Qualifications

Required

• 6+ years in corporate finance, investment banking, or FP&A - preferably with some operational exposure.
• Experience with closing the books, financial forecasting, and budgeting.
• Proven ability to manage payroll, HR processes, and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, able to distill complex data into actionable insights.

Preferred

• Prior experience in a startup or high-growth company.
• Direct experience working with engineers and product teams.
• Comfort with SaaS metrics, equity-based compensation structures, and venture-backed company dynamics.
