✨ About The Role
- The Instrument Software Quality Engineer will report to the Head of Electrical and Software Engineering.
- This role involves managing software releases and authoring, running, and reporting on smoke and regression tests.
- The engineer will work closely with the biology team to determine software quality success criteria.
- Debugging instrument issues and creating bug tickets as necessary will be part of the daily responsibilities.
- Within the first three months, the engineer will run manual and automated device software test procedures and maintain device software release notes.
- By six months, the engineer will design, develop, and run new manual and automated device software test procedures.
- After 12 months, the engineer will be empowered to approve or reject software releases and establish best practices for the SQA function.

- The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a device Software Quality Assurance (SQA) position.
- Familiarity with scripting languages, particularly Python, is essential for this role.
- Experience with issue tracking tools such as JIRA is necessary to manage software quality effectively.
- A strong background in QA automation and authoring test procedures will contribute to success in this position.
- The candidate should be comfortable working with Linux-style systems and navigating through the terminal.
- A solutions-oriented mindset with a bias towards action over perfection is crucial for this role.
- The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach to testing and be comfortable with exposed electronics and unfinished hardware.
