HR Manager

At increasing levels of knowledge and responsibility, HR Managers are accountable for partnering effectively with HR management, business management and Center of Expertise (COE) organizations to drive business results through effective management and implementation of all HR projects, initiatives and activities in support of the assigned area of responsibility to ensure consistency of Vistra HR policies across Vistra's Business Units.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Establish partnerships and maintain close relationships with business management to recognize, identify, and understand business trends, issues, goals and needs for present and future business initiatives.
  • Provide strategic human resource insight and guidance on organization issues and business implications pertaining to specific projects and initiatives.
  • Direct implementation of new or revised HR programs and/or policies through effective communications and training of business unit managers and employees.
  • Provide ongoing consulting and support services to business unit managers in the execution/delivery of HR programs and policies as well as guidance related to the management of their employees.
  • Lead HR projects and initiatives by coordinating and collaborating with business unit management and COE staffs to develop and implement programs and processes to meet business needs.
  • Provide coordination regarding Employee Relations, including the discipline process, between the business unit, HR and the legal department.
  • Support Employee Relations in timely completion of required regulatory filings and specific regulatory inquiries.
  • Ensure aggressive progress against Vistra's goal of becoming a high performance industrial company.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements:

  • 7 or more years of progressive, related professional HR experience at high performing organizations
  • Demonstrated success and experience in consulting on and driving Compensation, Performance Management, Staffing and Learning and Development.
  • Demonstrated leadership and customer focus skills
  • Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills
  • Certification as SPHR or PHR desired.
  • Demonstrated success in Project Management.
  • Knowledge of employment law and current HR trends.
  • Minimum education is HS Diploma or equivalency

Key Metrics:

  • Ensure all human resources activities within the businesses supported are undertaken ethically and legally in compliance with company policies, procedures, and all related, federal, state and local employment laws while meeting business needs.
