Responsibilities: Assist in the design and analysis of stormwater management systems, drainage structures, and erosion and sediment control plans. Support hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using software such as HEC-RAS, HY-8, and TR-55. Help prepare construction documents, technical reports, and permit applications. Conduct field investigations and assist with data collection and site assessments. Collaborate with engineers and environmental scientists on multidisciplinary transportation projects. Learn and apply local, state, and federal water resources regulations (e.g., VDOT, MDOT, PennDOT, NCDOT).
Requirements: Must be pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program. Strong interest in water resources/hydraulics and transportation infrastructure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Exposure to engineering software (e.g., MicroStation, AutoCAD, or GIS is a plus) Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
