System Engineer
Insight Global is seeking a System Engineer local to Tysons, VA to support a large commercial client. The ideal candidate will have a physical security background and experience supporting low voltage systems, access control systems (software house, lenel, milestone, gallagher, etc.). The will be responsible for programming, integration, and testing of physical security systems.
Other Responsibilities:
- Consult with clients to identify their specific needs and challenges and match them with suitable product solutions.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to potential clients, showcasing product features and benefits.
- Craft detailed proposals that outline the proposed solution, pricing, and implementation plan.
- Maintain ongoing relationships with clients, providing post-sale support, and addressing technical concerns.
- Develop and execute market surveys, lab evaluations, proof of concepts, and pilots of various physical security technologies.
- Assists with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
- Participates in interface definition, design, and changes to the configuration between affected groups and individuals throughout the life cycle.
- Develops system design solution that satisfies the system requirements and fulfills the functional analysis.
- Provides technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex hardware/software systems to include requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, conducting systems requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, developing system architectures, and performing technical/non-technical assessment and management as well as end-to-end flow analysis.
- Develops scenarios (threads) and an Operational Concept that describes the interactions between the system, the user, and the environment, that satisfies operational, support, maintenance, and disposal needs.
- Reviews and/or approves system engineering documentation to ensure that processes and specifications meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, and complete.
- Prepares time-line analysis diagrams illustrating the flow of time-dependent functions.

Skills and Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of experience with installation, troubleshooting and/or testing of electronic security systems OR Associates with 6+ years of experience OR Bachelors with 2+ years of experience
- Experience troubleshooting low voltage and access control systems
- Experience testing, programming, and integration of physical security systems
- Basic networking experience (cisco, meraki, juniper)
