Golf Pro Shop Operations Assistant
This position is located within Commander, Mid-Atlantic Region, Fleet and Family Readiness Program. The purpose of this position is to assist with Golf Pro Shop operations. Responsibilities include:
- Greeting all patrons and assisting them with any of their golfing needs.
- Ringing up sales of green fees, carts, range balls, and other services/merchandise in appropriate sales categories.
- Ensuring all players are properly signed in and all fees paid.
- Meeting golfers during play to ensure receipts reflect the proper number of holes, as applicable.
- Explaining rules, etiquette, and any other information regarding the course.
- Exercising knowledge of items sold and demonstrating salesmanship abilities, explaining use of various products, assisting patrons in fitting wearing apparel or the proper choice of equipment when requested.
- Directing Recreation Aids NF-1 when additional range balls are needed.
- Collecting and recording various tournament and service fees.
- Helping maintain roster of various tee times under specified guidelines.
- Assisting other staff and patrons in pairing up into foursomes for play.
- Traveling by golf carts throughout the course ensuring the pace of play and compliance with all course rules and regulations.
- Using utmost tact and diplomacy informing golfers that they are not complying with rules, and what they can do to ensure compliance, correct procedures, and appropriate pace of play.
- Ensuring that the course is free and safety hazards at all times.
- Notifying management of any hazards immediately.
- Receiving merchandise from storage area.
- Inventories and verifies shipments and stock items in accordance with established stock location procedures.
- Continually observing quantities of stock and replenishing as necessary to maintain established levels.
- Rearranging stock and displays to accommodate new, seasonal, or fast moving items.
- Assisting with periodic physical inventories.
- Maintaining sales and cash handling regulations and procedures.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.

- Ability to operate a cash register and other general office equipment.
- Some computer knowledge is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of the rules/procedures of the game of golf and basic knowledge of merchandise sold.

- Ability to offer exceptional customer service at all times.
- Friendly, mature demeanor required at all times.
Education:
This position does not have a positive education requirement.
