Quality Assurance Engineer

The Quality Assurance Engineer will apply knowledge and training in the performance of a variety of different tasking. The candidate will inspect incoming custom-made parts to ensure that they are accurate and within tolerance with the provided drawings. These parts are for the U.S. Army Materiel Command's Picatinny Arsenal.

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate readings.
  • Experience with machine tools and testing and measuring equipment: calipers, micrometer, depth gauges, combination square set, etc.
  • Experience taking precise measurements.
  • Excellent knowledge of material properties.
  • Experience using multimeters and insulation testers to assist with testing various cable types and cable assemblies.
  • Possess exceptional attention to detail work routine.
  • Works well within a team environment.
  • Assemble kits in accordance with the technical data package on the statement of work.
  • Possess and properly utilizes computer skills necessary to achieve accurate and timely database entry, report generation or document generation as required.
  • Coordinate with the Production Manager to ensure proper inspection and testing of configuration items is accomplished prior to kitting and shipping.
  • Assist the Material coordinator with shipping, packing, kitting, and receiving; to include shipment tracking of equipment and material; shipping and packing process will be accomplished IAW with MIL-STD-129 & 130 DOD standards.
  • Conduct quality assurance procedures IAW company policies.
  • Support internal and external quality assurance and inventory audits as required.

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience inspecting incoming custom-made parts to ensure that they are accurate and within tolerance with the provided drawings.
  • Associate's degree preferred or a minimum of 2 years equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a team environment in the office and warehouse.
  • Experience maintaining an accurate database for parts and property via specialized programs with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with performing all tasking IAW the company's Quality Management System, (QMS) and all applicable technical publications.
  • Experience working alongside material coordinators to ensure proper inventorying, kitting and shipping for 200 plus line items of parts and supplies.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • This position involves working in an office/warehouse environment during hot and cold temperature conditions.
  • Work in a noisy environment with some lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds required.

Preferred experience:

  • Experience in DOD or Department of the Army/Navy/Air Force supply parts and CL IX repair parts.
