Production Support Supervisor Temporary Services

You will serve as a PRODUCTION SUPPORT SUPERVISOR (TEMPORARY SERVICES) in the Temporary Service Shop (Code 990), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities include supervising several different trades and ensuring the effective and efficient management of the planned workload projects assigned to the Temporary Services Division. You will plan the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools provided through assigned units of work. You will conduct job briefings and readiness reviews in accordance with the applicable nuclear refueling/defueling instructions. You will monitor the status of assigned work in relation to the overall scheduled requirements including unanticipated or emergency requirements. You will perform regular job supervision, paying particular attention to conformance to procedures and processes and established performance goals. You will take appropriate action to prevent or overcome bottlenecks, equipment, and power breakdowns.

Requirements include the ability to lead or supervise. This involves supervising work performed by subordinates and planning the division of workload based on capabilities of available employees, workplace conditions, and priority of projects. Evaluating skills of the team members and seeking guidance and advice from the trades/expert or trade supervisor. Leading processes involved in the fabric worker trade while initiating any necessary corrective actions to overcome delays in project completion; technical accountability for the quantity and quality of the work performed by subordinates; evaluate skills of team members.
