You will serve as an OPS SPECIALIST in the Sensor Data Exploitation Division, Electromagnetic & Sensor Systems Department of NAVSURFWARCENDLD. The Sensor Data Exploitation Division is a multi-faceted group who actively engages with the United States Navy fleet in reachback support to provide feedback regarding ship performance, event reconstruction, and tactical recommendations.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical electronics expertise and guidance to lead engineering projects, provide engineering support, or resolve technical issues associated with the testing and evaluation of naval shipboard weapons systems. Examples of qualifying experience include: planning, leading, and executing AEGIS sensor and weapon trade studies and performance analyses; deriving sensor mission requirements; developing system and subsystem test requirements and analysis products; etc..

The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The full performance level of NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13/14. The salary range represents all of the positions within the band, including GS-14 equivalent (high grade) positions. This is not a high grade position; the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $156,755).
