Network Security Engineer - Firewall Migration Specialist

Lead the enterprise-wide security infrastructure modernization through migration from Cisco Firepower to Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls across several locations.

Execute end-to-end migration from Cisco Firepower to Palo Alto PA-5430 NGFWs managed via Panorama M-700/VM.

Plan, implement, test, and stabilize security infrastructure across Norfolk, VA and Washington, DC campuses.

Convert and optimize security policies from Cisco FTD/FMC to Palo Alto platforms.

Configure Panorama management (device groups, templates, HA architecture).

Implement application-aware security policies utilizing App-ID, User-ID, NAT, Threat Prevention, and URL Filtering.

Integrate firewalls with Active Directory/Entra ID and Cisco ISE for identity-based access control.

Develop technical documentation and conduct knowledge transfer sessions.

Qualifications:

• US Citizenship with active SECRET clearance required
• Expert-level experience with Palo Alto PA-5430 hardware and Panorama management platforms
• Proven track record executing Cisco Firepower to Palo Alto migrations
• Strong proficiency in policy conversion, mapping, and optimization between platforms
• Experience with enterprise integrations (Active Directory, Cisco ISE)
• Deep understanding of NGFW features: Policy Optimizer, File Blocking, Threat Prevention
