You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (EMPLOYEE BENEFITS) in the CIVILIAN BENEFITS CENTER (CBC) of OFFICE OF CIVILIAN HUMAN RESOURCES OPERATIONS. Responsibilities include reviewing and resolving benefits issues, mentoring and training junior staff, determining eligibility for retirement provisions, preparing retirement annuity estimates, reviewing proposed retirement and benefits legislation, preparing briefings regarding retirement and benefits, composing letters to respond to customer inquiries, and resolving retirement issues.
Requirements include at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, demonstrating experience in retirement or benefits work. Education may substitute for specialized experience at the GS-11 level. A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed. Certain incentives may be authorized to eligible selectees.
